TOUCH GRASS
Ok, it was time to touch grass and pause on the link-heavy content. Which, funny enough, my executive producer at the Morgan Stewart Show suggested we start doing a segment called “Touch Grass,” which I immediately vetoed, so it’s pretty rich of me to use that phrase in the intro line here, but ANYWAY. We needed to get back to Boobs and Loubs at its roots, if you will. HOW ARE WE? Are we feeling like summer is slowly coming to a close? August really is such a strange month. It really feels reminiscent of staying at a party too long, waiting for it to end. Meanwhile, if you’re an LA resident, the summer festivities come to a close, but then September and October are literally SCORCHING HOT, so it’s all very strange.
Row is starting a week-long camp on Monday at her new school. The hope is that the week of camp at this new place will help acclimate her and her new classmates and help with the transition from pre-schooler to kindergartener. Somehow, this milestone has cut me deeper than literally ANYTHING else that has happened with my kids. The walking, the talking, the overall cuteness does not compare to what I feel about Row going into Kindergarten. It’s bizarre. I’m hoping that once she’s settled, I’ll come back down to earth a bit.
Please don’t worry. She insisted we get her light-up Skechers for this momentous event, and I just had to smile through paying for them. Row wants hyper-pink sparkly clothing, and it is my job to accept her and what makes her feel good. I HATE IT. I know you’re all thinking all little girls are like this and they all want to dress this way, but I can tell that Row is going to be unique, not only in her style but also in her being. NOT TO BRING UP THE FUCKING ZODIAC, BUT she is suchhhhh a little Aquarius (an Aquarius stellium, to be specific), and I have already learned that being in a combative state with Row McGraw does not work, so pray for me during the teenage years.
I HAVE SOOOOO MUCH HAPPENING. Yes, yes, Blessings on blessings, but it’s a lot to balance and manage. And so much glam to book? I will never understand how SO much of my life revolves around glam?? Next month, we’re celebrating three years of Renggli with a fabulous party, which feels insane but, at the same time, not that long at all? We are also planning for our first-ever POP-UP, which will be popping up in New York City, so if you’re an NYC girlie, I very much expect to see you. This specific NYFW trip will take me away from home for about ten days, which always tends to feel a little overwhelming and terrible.
It’s strange to have kids during a time that coincides with when the most opportunities seem to come to you. You essentially hit your stride as an adult and human, but then you also have these anchors reminding you that every decision and trip away needs to be CAREFULLY CONSIDERED, or you could be missing out on very precious once-in-a-lifetime moments. If you’re reading this during a kid-free time in your life, please GET UP AND GET OUT. You’re not tired, heartbroken, and/or that hangover really wasn’t that bad, I PROMISE YOU.
To end this little update, which honestly felt pretty refreshing, SO many of you are listening and coming up to me about the podcast, and I am truly so grateful. I think I just started to have fun last week and finally feel like things are starting to click into place, so that makes me feel very good. Thank you for being here.
Love you guys!
